A good motorcycle pants ensures that you are initially protected if you possibly make a slide.
There are different types of motorcycle pants, both leather motorcycle pants, textile motorcycle pants and jeans for the motorcycle.
A textile motorcycle jacket used to be suitable for all seasons, but a whole range of textile motorcycle pants has now been added.
Waterproof motorcycle pants with a Z-Liner:
Suitable for driving throughout the year. Usually equipped with a removable thermal liner.
The waterproof membrane in these motorcycle pants is located between the outer fabric and the inner lining of the pants.
This is the cheapest way to waterproof motorcycle pants.
Benefits of the Z-Liner:
Laminated waterproof motorcycle pants:
With laminated motorcycle pants, the waterproof membrane is laminated to the outer fabric, this is a fairly expensive production process and you will only find this in the more expensive motorcycle pants.
Advantages of laminated motorcycle pants:
Disadvantages laminated motorcycle pants:
The so-called 3 in 1 textile motorcycle pants:
This is also waterproof, windproof and breathable and also has a removable thermal lining. As an extra with this type you can also remove the waterproof membrane from the motorcycle jacket or motorcycle pants so that it ventilates even more and better in extremely hot weather.
Advantages of 3 in 1 motorcycle pants:
Disadvantages 3 in 1 motorcycle pants:
Ventilated textile motorcycle pants:
This is usually the real summer motorcycle clothing, not waterproof, not windproof and no thermal lining. Equipped with Mesh panels that provide extra ventilation during the hot summer days.
Advantages of ventilated motorcycle clothing:
Disadvantages ventilated motorcycle clothing:
As mentioned earlier, the motorcycle jeans have taken a huge growth spurt in recent years.
They have become much more fashionable, the materials have been greatly improved and simply look super cool.
There are different brands of motorcycle jeans, these also vary in price range from € 99.00 to well over € 200.00.
The difference lies in the degree of protection:
Cheaper Motor Jeans:
With the cheaper motorcycle jeans there is only reinforcement on the vulnerable parts, often through Kevlar®, Kevlar® is very strong and therefore very durable. The pants themselves are normally made of denim and therefore not wear-resistant on the non-vulnerable parts. Often there are optional CE Protectors available for the knees.
More expensive Motor Jeans:
With the more expensive motorcycle jeans there is often Kevlar® throughout the pants, so this means that the pants are even better protected in the event of a fall. These motorcycle jeans can also be expanded with CE Protection on the knees.
We have now given Kevlar® as an example, but if you opt for a Revit Motor jeans then we are talking about a completely different story:
Revit Motor Jeans:
Revit motorcycle jeans are slightly different, apart from the fact that they are extremely fashionable, they are also one of the best motorcycle jeans on the market.
Revit uses Cordura® Denim for the outer fabric of the motorcycle jeans, so no normal denim, but denim with Cordura® incorporated. Cordura® is used in the more expensive textile motorcycle clothing and is very durable.
Revit also has a PWR | Shield developed, which is even stronger than the commonly used Kevlar® and can be found on the vulnerable parts. As standard, Revit Motor Jeans also come with CE Protectors for the knees. In many models, CE-protection for the hips is optionally available.
